primary starter kit…well you asked for it!
We’re over the moon (to put it as a cliche!) to say that so many people we met in Glasgow, at the Scottish Learning Festival, loved the idea of a Primary Starter Kit for Enterprise Soapbox that we’ve decided to make one.
With a manual on CD Rom the kit will enable younger students to get to grips with the concepts of enterprise, teamwork, design, art, the environment and links to history and language all in one topic.
The kit will link to the English ‘Every Child Matters’ initiative in helping kids to understand work and business - thereby assisting the understanding of economic well-being and in Scotland the ‘Curriculum for Excellence’ will be assisted through providing opportunities for effective contribution to a task which will help to ensure confidence, responsibility and success in team-based design, working and even business when they sell the soap at the school fair!
The new Enterprise Soapbox Primary Starter Kit for schools costs just £ 200 and can be ordered from the contact/buy pages of this website or by contacting us via Email or telephone. Delivery will generally be less than a week from the point of order.
What are you waiting for….?
and the winner is…
CONGRATULATIONS to our 2 lucky winners from the Scottish Learning Festival who won our new starter kit for Primary Schools!
Angela Clayton from Whitletts Primary School, South Ayrshire was the Wednesday winner and Karen Ralston from Bellyeomans Primary School won the kit on Thursday. These kits will be posted out today via the nice people at FedEx for delivery on Monday.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by at our stand at the SLF - please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need more information or wish to place an order for a kit or workshop.
Cheers, Bernie and Alan.
Eco-Fish alert!
The newest of the Innovative Enterprise family of products is about to be launched…or should that be ’set free’?!
Eco-Fish is a challenging and exciting game that teaches young people about the issues involved in protecting a natural resource. It’s the latest Enterprise Plus kit in a box and will be available from Mid-October. Our designers and suppliers are putting the finishing touches to the kit.
Look out for more information here and on the Innovative Enterprise website.
WIN a soapbox starter kit!
Visitors to the Scottish Learning Festival (SECC Glasgow 24-25th September) can be in with a chance to win an Enterprise Soapbox starter kit each day.
If you’re going along, please come and see us at Stand L9.
Cheers, Bernie
North of the border!
Welcome to the new academic year!
We love Scotland (in fact our founder’s father was from Edinburgh so it must be in the blood!) and we’re going to be at the Scottish Learning Festival at the SECC in Glasgow on 24th and 25th September. Apparently the event’s enormous - with over 7,000 teachers in attendance!
We’re going to have Stand L9 in Hall 4 for the duration and we will have an excellent competition on the stand - with two Enterprise Soapbox starter kits (worth over £ 200 each) on offer to win from a prize draw.
So, if you’re going along - please come and see us, get some samples, info and have a chat.
Terms and Conditions for the competition are: One winning entry will be drawn on 24th and 25th September. There will be no cash alternative. Any data collected will be held in line with Data Protection Register rules. We will not sell or share your information with other companies. We will use the information collected for occasional marketing purposes.
SoapScience4YourSchool.
soapscience4yourschool has become our most-requested (and delivered!) workshop. Many of the schools we work in love the hands-on nature of the day, the products the students make, how engaged the kids get and how much learning they come out with.
You can read more about it on the IE site here: www.innovativeenterprise.co.uk/programmes/soap_science.php and here are a couple of comments from happy customers:
“Bernie [from Innovative Enterprise] came into WGS to run two separate days - one making and marketing soap and the other to make a comic strip on computers about issues the girls are concerned about…I really do recommend Bernie and if I sound as though I’m on commiss, I’m not…I was just very impressed!” Helen Story, Director of Enterprise, Windsor Girls School - B&E College.
“The students were hooked from beginning to end - we made and marketed French-packaged soap which fits with our status as a language college. The workshop ran smoothly and our Year 9 students really benefitted from the process and the messages contained in the Soapscience4Broadway programme” Jeremy Mound, Enterprise Manager, Broadway Language College, Birmingham.
We’ve got a couple of dates free in Enterprise Week (17-21st November) and other dates across the year, but this programme is very popular and get’s booked up quickly (even with three teams on the road!)
Please contact us for more details.
Lights, camera…ACTION!
We’ve just heard that the girls at Pensby High School for Girls, B&E Specialist School, who are creating our ‘how to’ DVD guide are just about finished!
This is a good thing, as they have just been entered into the 5th Wirral Schools’ Film Festival on 3rd July. The Festival will be graced with the presence (and speaking skills) of Sir David Puttnam, the film guru!
Future purchases of the Enterprise Soapbox kit will come with a copy of the DVD inside and it should also be on this website from the end of July.
Thanks girls, Mrs Yorke at the school and fingers crossed for a good premiere! Roll out the Red Carpet and get those posh frocks on!
Happy Holidays!
We’re all taking a well-earned holiday this half term.
The office re-opens on 3rd June - we’ll get back to any Emails or calls then.
Cheers!
